Reel! Reel! Reel!

Hello everybody!

I hope everything is going good back there in NC! I've had a good couple weeks here in San Jose! Daddy got here last Thursday and left this morning to head back home. He taught our Bible class last Friday and then preached at church on Sunday morning! Everybody down here really loved his teaching! On Saturday we went ziplining! It was quite a rush flying 500 feet over the rainforest at 40 mph upsidedown! We left right after church Sunday and headed to the coast to do some fishing. We fished all day Monday and then got back here to the Villa last night. We had a blast fishing! We caught three sailfish and one Mahi-Mahi. The sailfish weighed between 100 and 130 lbs. each and the Mahi-Mahi was about 20 lbs. One of the crew members on the boat filleted the Mahi-Mahi there on the boat and we had it for lunch! It was amazing! Yesterday we just hung out at the hotel most of the morning and then hit the road to head back to San Jose. We had a really great time together.

Only 9 more days till I get home! I cant wait to get there! Love yall and see ya soon!

A Day of Exploring

Howdy everybody!
Hope everything is dandy there in NC! I just got back from doing some exploring in the city this morning. Three of us walked up to the bus stop and just got on and rode for a while. We didn't find anything too exciting though. We ended up at the top of a mountain with nothing around so we just caught the next bus back down and then went into downtown for a while.

Last week was pretty typical here in San Jose. Last Wednesday we went on a field trip to the National Museum of Costa Rica and that was pretty neat. They had a big room full of butterflies and I got some really cool pictures!
On Saturday we went about an hour away to a baptism service at a camp with our church. They baptized about 25 people and then we hung out there for the rest of the day.

Well, Dad will be here on Thursday and I can't wait! He is teaching our Bible class on Friday and then we're headed to the coast on Sunday to do some fishing for a couple days! I'm really looking forward to him getting here! And when he leaves I'll only have one more week here! God has grown me and taught me so much through this experience, but at the same time, I can't wait to be back home!
Here are some pictures from the museum and the baptism.

Thanks for all the prayers! See y'all week after next!

Another week in Costa Rica!

Hey everybody!

I hope all of y'all are doing great! It's been another typical week here in Costa Rica. Not much to blog about. Just classes everyday. We were supposed to go to a zipline today but we weren't able to get it reserved so we didn't get to go. I got up early this morning and went to the gym with some of the other guys and worked out for a while, and then we all went and played football (American football)! It was a lot of fun but after two hours of lifting weights and then two hours of football I'm tuckered out! It's been kinda cool and rainy here all day. The last couple of weeks the rain has let up a little bit though! We've had a few really nice afternoons lately. Well, just over three weeks till I'm back home and, my goodness, I cant wait! I miss it!

Love you guys! Thanks for the prayers!

What Kind of Critters are These!?

Hey!

Here's those pics I promised! The top one is looking down into the crater of the volcano. It's kind of hard to see because of the fog. The little rascals in the bottom picture were running around the parking lot and begging for food! I have no clue what they're called but they looked kinda like coons.

Love you guys! See ya soon!

Yes, I'm still alive!

Hey everbody!

Wow its been a long time since I've blogged! Sorry! It's been a good couple weeks here in Costa Rica. Lots and lots of Spanish! Our Bible classes went really good last week! We had a special teacher come in from the States and he was really great! He wentthrough the book of Acts.

Last Sunday morning at church I went with the 9-12 year olds to a park up the street instead of sitting through the service. Theirsunday school teacher asked me to go because she needed another set of eyes watching the kids. Before we went back to the church we split up into groups to pass out tracts at the park so I had a group of kids to lead around! It was really neat!

On Monday a group of us went to another volcano. We were at nearly 10,000 feet elevation so we were in the clouds. It only clearedup enough to see the bottom of the crater a couple times and just for a minute or two. It was pretty amazing being up in the clouds too though! It was about 40 degrees up there and it felt so good! I love cold weather! I'll try to post some pictures of it sometime this weekend.

God is still showing me awesome things everyday! It has been amazing to get away and just draw close to Him and seek after His heart! My quiet times in the mornings have been incredible!

Well, only five more weeks till I'm home! Can't wait to get there! I love and miss all of you and thanks for the prayers!

Rainy week in CR

Hey everybody!

It's almost 5pm on Sunday, October 19th and we just got back from church. It has been a pretty normal week here in Costa Rica. We got a ton of rain this week. They told us that it rained more here between Tuesday and Friday than they have had in that short of a time period in 104 years! There has been a lot of flooding in other parts of the country but none here.

This morning I got to watch the service on the internet again! I've been able to do that almost every Sunday and its been great to get to see and hear everybody!

This week is going to be a little different. We usually have Spanish class all morning but this week we're having a special Bible teacher coming in so we are gonna have Bible in the mornings and just a little bit of Spanish in the afternoons. It will be a nice break from so much Spanish!

God has continued to show Himself strong and reveal new things in His word everyday! Thank y'all so much for the prayers!

I love and miss y'all!
